Metaverse (AR&VR) in Trading – What Could the Future of Trading Look Like?

Metaverse is a big thing these days. This three-dimensional virtual realm technology, which may challenge the way human beings might live, is touching almost every aspect, niche, or field. And trading can be another area where AR can replace our working environment. But is it even possible? Is it needed? Can it help traders achieve success?

Either way, the curiosity is inevitable. Can virtual reality change trading? Will it really become an integral part of how traders can manage their daily activities?

Augmented and Virtual Reality in Trading

The metaverse is a blend of current and future digital platforms powered by immersive technologies like AR and VR. It offers a 3D, interactive, and persistent virtual world where users can socialize, work, shop, learn, and trade in real-time. In many areas, the use of AR and VR is already in place. Just a few days ago, I had my first scuba dive experience in virtual reality. In one word, wow! And there are lots of VR applications you can already use to get the best experience.

So, in short, virtual and augmented reality are technologies that cannot be ignored. In trading, the use of virtual reality refers to trading using a VR headset and seeing the trading charts, quotes, and any other trading features in virtual reality.

Here’s what it looks like:

As you can see, it is certainly an interesting way to trade the markets, and many claim it gives them the advantage of stepping into another world where they can focus and effectively analyze the markets.

Can You Trade with a VR Headset?

Well, yes, basically, you can trade with any VR headset, although there’s no specific headset yet designed specifically for trading. So, any of the popular VR headsets can do the work for you to view the markets in the metaverse.

Currently, it seems that the best headset for trading is Apple’s Vision Pro. Many traders also claim that the Quest 2/3, as well as the Oculus Rift VR headset, can be ideal for that purpose.

Final Word

Ok, the truth must be said. There’s something a bit strange about the idea of trading with virtual reality. Is it really needed? I mean, after all, right now, with a VR headset, you essentially get the ability to look at what you can look at without the headset. So, I wouldn’t rush to go in that direction unless you are a techy person looking to explore futuristic technologies.

But we all want to know what the future of trading might look like with virtual reality. For example, here’s what Glimpse Group predicts regarding the future of trading using advanced VR and AR applications. That’s certainly interesting and revolutionary.

Is that going to be the future of trading? very likely. Quite recently, eToro, one of the leading CFD brokers in the industry, announced its desire to develop a trading app for Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest VR headsets. A

And quite honestly, it’s hard to see a field that is so advanced in terms of technology that will skip the idea of having a virtual reality application. In my view, we are very close to a trading virtual reality application that will quickly become mainstream and become the ‘normal’ way to trade the markets.
